Earth Day

Earth Day is the largest celebrated international event to highlight Earth’s unique place in the universe. As a mark of respect for this day the students of Classes III, IV and V celebrated Earth Week at K.R. Mangalam World School with great enthusiasm and their efforts were appreciated by the Principal Mrs. Jyoti Gupta and the Primary In Charge, Mrs. Suhani Daur.

CLASS-III

 WEALTH OUT OF WASTE was the activity for the students of Class III. They used empty cans to make useful things. The cans were decorated with immense creativity and imagination using all kinds of decorative materials like fluorescent colored paper to make their cans look as attractive as possible. They made beautiful pen stands, flower vase, multi use stands out of the waste cans. The activity was really enjoyed by the students and this also raised an alarm in their little minds that what a DIFFERENCE each one of them could make in contributing to save the environment. The children resolved to accept collective responsibility for the imbalance which man made activities have had on our planet

CLASS-IV
AN ECO FRIENDLY FASHION SHOW  was the activity for Class IV students which was conducted on 15th  and 16th  April. The theme was to combat climate change. The students were very enthusiastic and came dressed up in eco friendly fibres. Reuse and Recycling of products was shown. Car pooling was showcased and one student even brought a cycle to school to show that cycling is good for health as well as the environment. A green and smiling earth was shown along side a dying and a sad one. The students hereby understood the importance of saving earth and made the fashion show a grand success. 

CLASS-V
ECO FRIENDLY BOOK-MARKS were made by the students of Class V using eco-friendly decorative materials like handmade paper, ribbons, dried leaves and flowers, glitter and mirrors. They wrote appropriate captions in English and Hindi on the bookmark which was the brainchild of their own intelligence. The slogans written by them were such that it made one believe that it was Best to catch them young and teach them how at a personal level we can all make a sizeable difference towards our planets’ survival by conserving water, electricity, power and fuel, planting trees, minimizing the usage of bio-degradable substances and SWITCHING to renewable sources of energy. The students of Class V enjoyed this wonderful experience of crafting their own bookmarks.
