Its summer time again!
Strong winds, bright sun and an undying thrust keeps us in doors to beat the long hours at home lets gear up for a project presentation on "Media and Advertising" in the form of a model, chart, project or power point presentation. The presentation should include:
1. The changing role of Media in today’s World.
2. The importance of technology.
3. The way Media deal with money and technology.
4. The way Advertisement affects people and their brand values.
5. The making of Advertisements and their promotion.
6. Democracy and Advertising.
Use your imagination and make the project as colorful and attractive as you can.
ENGLISH
Work on a magazine on any three ‘Literary Achievers of India’
Surf the net and collect information on the literary achievers.
- The magazine should have an interesting cover page and an index.
- Pictures of the literary achievers and details about their life and works should be included in the magazine.(word limit-80 for each)
- The students should also mention who is their favourite literary achiever and why.
SCIENCE
Physics
1. To study the absorption of radiation: take two tins. Remove the labels and paint the surface of one tin with black paint and the other one white. Fill both tins with equal amounts of cold water at the same temperature taken from the refrigerator. Place both tins in the Sun and note their temperature after 15 minutes. What do you notice about the temperature in the two tins? Do in fair copies.
2. Hold a metal spoon in your hand and plunge its end into very hot water. What happens? Record your observations in fair copies giving reason.
Chemistry
1. Make your own humus: Collect the leaf from your garden with the help of a rake. Dig a small pit and put the leaves in it. Watch them decay over a period of a few weeks and keep piling on more leaves. As you do this you will find the leaves at the bottom turning black. This is humus. It is ready to be mixed with garden soil for planting flowers or vegetables. Collect the sample of the humus and paste it in your fair copies.
2. Check the labels of any ten garments and list the materials written on the labels. Further classify them as natural or man-made.(Do in your fair copies)
Biology
1. Visit a doctor and find out:
a. Under what conditions does a patient need to be on drip of glucose?
b. Till when does a patient need to be given glucose?
c. How does glucose help the patient recover?
2. Make a model to show camouflage of an animal in its habitat as the background.
