SOCIAL SCIENCE

Hi Kids,
Its summer time again!
Strong winds, bright sunshine and an undying thrust keeps us in doors to beat the long hours at home lets gear up for a
project presentation on "Buildings, Paintings and Books" it could be in the form of model, chart, project or power point presentation and include the following :

 1. The description of the iron pillar.
 2. The stupa's and temples.
 3. Paintings of Ajanta etc.
 4. A topic on the Puranas.
 5. Aryabhatta and his contribution.
 Use your imagination and make the project as colorful and attractive as you can.

ENGLISH
Follow the given instructions.
Make a thin four line note book. Cover and decorate it. Marks will be allotted for presentation. From the given list choose
any two books and write a review each for both in the thin note books.It should include the plot, theme, summary and
favourite character.
1. Charlie & the Chocolate Factory- Roald Dahl.
2. The Three Musketeers- Alexander Dumas.
3. Robinson Crusoe- DAniel Defoe.
4. Swami & Friends- R.K.Narayan.

MATHS
Make a project on Symmetry to be presented on  20 inches by 20 inches thermocol sheet).Complete  Whole Numbers and  Knowing our Numbers  from the assignment booklet in the H.W notebook.
SCIENCE
1. Make a list of food items generally taken by people of different regions of India. Place these on a large outline map of
India to display.
2. Prepare a diet chart to provide a balanced diet to a 12year old child. The diet chart should include food items which
are not expensive and are commonly available.
3. We have learnt that excessive intake of fats is harmful for the body. What about other nutrients? Would it be harmful
to take too much proteins or vitamins in the diet? Read about diet related problems to find answers to these questions
and write about any two of them.
4. a) Pull out 6-8 strands from any five fabrics. View them under a hand lens. Write and draw your observation.
    b) Take 5 different yarns. Hold one end of each with a tong and bring it near the flame of a candle. Write your
observations in the following table (To be done under adult supervision)
