‘Leaders are not born, they are made.’ Come July, and it was time for selection of the young leaders of the junior school. The investiture ceremony for the Junior Students’ Council was held on 22nd July 2010.
It was attended by the Principal Mrs. Jyoti Gupta, the Primary In Charge Mrs. Suhani Daur, the parents of the new council and students. The ceremony began with the lighting of the lamp by our Principal, which was followed by a march past by the Council. A melodious song by the choir group and a fusion dance also added colour to the whole event.
The prefectorial body of the junior school was awarded their badges by the Principal. Later, she administered the oath to the new prefects and each prefect repeated the words with great humility and honor. Neil Banerjee was chosen the Head Boy and Aayushi Choudhary the new Head Girl.
In her address, the Principal exhorted the Students’ Council to work diligently in fulfilling their duties and responsibilities. She also highlighted the importance of leadership qualities in an individual and wished the new appointments the very best for the year ahead.
The ceremony ended gaily and successfully with the vote of thanks by the Primary In Charge.
