MONTHLY ACTIVITY
HELD ON-22JANUARY 2010

The monthly activity for Class IV was HERBARIUM . It was a very interesting activity in which the students showed their creativity with dry flowers. The students were instructed about 15 days prior to the activity, to get flowers and dry them by keeping them in-between newspapers. On the day of the event, they brought these flowers and were given a choice to make either a BOOKMARK or a GREETING CARD. They beautifully put in their ideas and the results obtained were indeed impressive. Three best items were chosen from each section and were given certificates. A board was prepared with these and displayed at the school's reception area.

A REPORT ON MONTHLY ACTIVITY --  TESSELLATION

In order to inculcate rational thinking and foster scientific attitude among students, the students of class IV participated in the monthly activity TESSELLATION. It was held on 19th Jan,2010.

A tessellation is a way to tile a floor with shapes such that there are no gaps and no overlapping. The students were given two different colored glazed papers and they cut the shapes out of it to create the patterns of their choice. They then arranged those shapes on the white sheet provided alongside. All in all, it was a fun activity for them which they enjoyed thoroughly to the core.

ACTIVITY for the month of JANUARY 2010
     CLASS V-SCIENCE

Students of class V worked enthusiastically on the ‘Plan-a-diet’ activity, where every section of class V was divided into four groups in this activity. They were required to plan a diet for a 10-year-old child, an adult female, a laborer and an elderly person. The children were provided with chart paper, fevicol, apair of scissors and sketch pens. The children made diet plans ( a group of four students worked on one plan) for the group allotted to them. The science teachers had explained beforehand the importance of a healthy diet and the nutritive value of each food group, as well as the requirements of various people according to their needs, age, activity and socio-economic status. The students stuck
