CLASS I
The week 29/9 to 1/10 was celebrated as Peace week. The children were told about Mahatma Gandhi and his principles of Peace, Non Violence and Truth .
To mark the occasion the children made book marks and decorated them. One child from each section was traditionally dressed in white and held a charkha in hand. They spoke about Gandhi ji and his ideals.
Children were told that Gandhi ji was also known as ‘Bapu, Mahatma and Father of the Nation.’ He stressed on wearing khadi cloth which was hand woven from cotton yarn on a charkha.
CLASS - II
The teachers discussed the principles and writings of Mahatma Gandhi. The significance of the ‘Charkha’ (spinning wheel) was told to them as they beautifully coloured the picture of it. The students were also amazed to know that the charkha symbolized the actions and beliefs of Mahatma Gandhi.

CLASS – IV
CLASS – IV – A
K.R.M. World School G.K.II, celebrated Peace Day on the eve of the Mahatma’s birthday. Class IV A put in their share of ideas by designing and making “Peace Ribbons” using multi coloured satin ribbons. They expressed their creative skills by modifying and adding slogans, symbols like the dove and the peace symbol to these arrays of rainbow bands which were woven into patterns and made into roses and different shapes. This activity helped their young minds to share, co-operate and work harmoniously forgetting differences of caste, colour, creed. Each extended a helping hand and went to help the slower children to finish the task of creating the Peace ribbons. As a Class Teacher, it was indeed a joy and fulfilling experience to see them fulfill in their own small way the ideals of the Father of the Nation. The class had imbibed and learnt yet another life skill –the value of peace, love
and brotherhood. A small step to making a peaceful Global village!
