Session (2010-11)

Dear Parents
We welcome you to the 2010-2011 Session! As we embark on our journey in the new session, it is time to reflect on our initiatives in the previous academic year. The highlight of the 2009-2010 session was the introduction of several new initiatives on the academic as well as co scholastic front. On the academic front, we ensured that material of the best quality was readily available to the students. Curriculum booklets for all classes & two hundred fully solved questions across all subjects for the board classes greatly aided and supplemented our students’ learning. Our vibrant and dynamic Virtual school provided KRM students easy access to quality study material, hots questions, sample papers and assignments in different subjects. The installation of Smart Boards in the classrooms helped the students in comprehending the lessons better besides augmenting their knowledge and awareness.
We honed the skills of our high achievers through asset management classes. The guidance and support provided to our students in these classes helped them give a brilliant performance in the CBSE National Olympiad, with two of them procuring cent percent marks- making them eligible for the special shield- & four students bagging gold medals. However, while honoring academic excellence, the needs of the special and slow learners were not neglected. The remedial classes conducted for the benefit of such students helped them better grasp the subject matter and also provided them with the confidence to bring about a palpable improvement in their performance. The overall performance of all our students has been extremely encouraging and highlights a remarkable improvement.
On the Co Scholastic front, we introduced a host of activities to help in the flowering of our students’ creativity: Photography, Origami, Helen O’ Grady classes, Japanese language classes etc. brought to the fore the talent of our young learners. Four new clubs namely, Literary club, Eco club, Performing arts club & Robotics club were added to the existing repertoire of Friday activity classes. The awards & accomplishments of our students in spheres as diverse as literary realm, music, dance & fine arts provided a great impetus to their confidence.
Our students’ performance on the Scholastic & Co Scholastic front mirrors the determined and coordinated effort on the part of both teachers and parents. We once again look forward to your cooperation and support in fostering the development of your wards. The school regularly conducts orientation programs, workshops, functions etc. , which are aimed at disseminating information about the school’s initiatives and increasing parental participation in the school’s endeavors. We look forward to an increased participation from the parents in the new session as their constructive interaction strengthens the vital communication between the parents and the school, thereby furthering students’ interests.
The almanac of the current session is a comprehensive document which enumerates school rules and regulations, school events, special assemblies, trips and visits and the evaluation scheme .Please familiarize yourself with the contents of the almanac to get a thorough knowledge about the school’s policy.
The parent card provided with the almanac needs to be duly filled and promptly submitted at the time of seeking an appointment with the principal/teachers.
As discipline is an integral part of school life, we solicit your support in instilling discipline in the students. Kindly acquaint yourself with the school rules & regulations mentioned in the almanac and ensure strict adherence to the same by your ward.
No student is permitted to carry gadgets to school. Possession of iPod, cell phone or any other gadget would lead to confiscation and invite a penalty. Kindly ensure that your wards do not carry any gadget to school.
We want to enlist parental support in managing the traffic outside school during morning hours. In this regard, it is strongly recommended that the car pool system be uniformly adopted and  students from class V upwards disembark at the colony gate. A little effort from your side would go a long way towards solving our traffic woes.
The assignment booklets prepared for the new session have been distributed and are proving a boon for the students. Detailed syllabi & references are included in the booklets besides important questions. The booklet would help students appreciate & fully grasp the lessons as well as get the required time to supplement their learning with practical work.
Please find attached the detailed syllabi of the first term evaluation of classes 6-10-covering summative and formative assessments- as per the Continuous and Comprehensive scheme of evaluation. We wish to clarify that the non pen & paper tests under the formative category carry 20 marks each and not 10 marks as mentioned inadvertently in the almanac.
Looking forward to your support and cooperation
Warm regards
