Charlie And the Chocolate Factory

An Adaptation of Roald Dahl’s “Charlie and The Chocolate Factory ”

“The drama is the looking-glass in which we see the hideousness of vice and the beauties of virtue.”
K.R.Mangalam World School ,G.K.II,has come a long way since its inception five years ago. In tandem with the school’s motto “ Together Towards Tomorrow” path breaking initiatives are taken in order to give students exposure to world class education along with developing their co curricular talents.
The Principal Mrs Jyoti Gupta’s passionate enthusiasm gave birth to this beautiful presentation.The school successfully staged a thrilling adaptation of Roald Dahl’s best selling story “Charlie and The Chocolate Factory ” on 30 November 2010 at Siri Fort Auditorium .This unique production ,directed by Mrs Madhu Sagar, provided the platform where our young enthusiasts showcased their talent which gave them an opportunity to be a part of the world of theatand co se.
The Principal,welcomed the Chairman,Shri Yash Dev Gupta,who in his speech motivated the students to work hard . He also gave them the message that “no task is small if one has the will.”
Shri Ajay Maken,Honourable Minister of State for Home Affairs graced the occasion as Chief Guest and shared his valuable views on the purpose of today’s education and the role played by K.R.Mangalam Group Of Schools. He expressed his appreciation for the niche carved by K.R. Mangalam World School ,G.K.II in a short span of six years to be one of the coveted instituitions not only in Delhi but the country as well.His speech endorsed the emphasis laid by the school on co –curricular and co scholastic domains.The fact that “Chess” was a part of the games taught in school was highly commendable along with the student teacher ratio which ideally provided the environment for the holistic development of each child.
Dr Anup Kumar Srivastava,IRS,Commissioner ,Customs,Central Excise and Service Tax was the Guest of Honour at the ceremony and he too appreciated the students and the school for its endeavours .He was of the view that the school worked towards creating”Vasudev Kutumbakam” and complimented the students for their panoramic programme.
The grand function began with the students Anika Jain and Shubendu Pal welcoming the guests. The ceremonial lighting of the lamp on a beautiful chocolate cake was followed by the Principal’s Address.The Symphony was followed by a comprehensive School Report presentation by Roshni Ashok and Abhishek Arora who enlightened the guests on the landmarks achieved by the school during the session 2010-2011. The meritorious students were felicitated in an Award Ceremony. The Guests released A BROCHURE on this occasion.
The first ever presentation of such a humongous nature involved the unstinting support of the parent community and the tireless staff. The event was highly applauded and appreciated by one and all present. The aroma will linger on for a long time to come as the school’s journey continues.
