K.R. Mangalam World School, Gk-II buzzed with activity and enthusiasm to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Earth day as the week long celebrations got underway on 17 April ’10. Myriad activities, which included slogan writing, poster making, workshops on recycling of waste, badge making, power point presentation on sustainable development, quiz and signature campaigns, were undertaken by the school to spread awareness about the environment. The campaign culminated on 23 April ’10 with a grand ceremony to mark the event. The program commenced with the lighting of the lamp followed by a welcome song. A riveting street play and a song further motivated the gathering to espouse the issue. Dr. Duraiswamy, Director, Ozone Cell and Mr. Tewatia IFS Director, Ministry of new and renewable energy graced the occasion as the Chief Guests. . The Principal of the school, Mrs. Jyoti Gupta, in her address, exhorted the students to remain committed to environmental causes. The program concluded with a pledge to conserve the environment.

Class III students participated in pen stand making
Class IV students were asked to make book marks
Class V students were involved in posture making competition
For classes VI VII VIII IX a quiz was conducted
Class X spread awareness to conserve our earth through a Nukad Natak (street play)

Our school also participated in decorating their classes and corridors bulletin boards and class boards on various themes- Bio Energy, Reduce, Reuse and Recycle, etc.
