Building bridges through education
A global environment demands the expansion of ones boundaries to reach out and assimilate the best the world offers. K.R Mangalam World School has forever espoused global concerns and has been a frontrunner in facilitating an interchange of ideas and concerns. Furthering the same tradition, K.R.M entered into collaboration with two Australian schools, namely Christian Brother’s College and Woodleigh School, Australia. As the initial step in this direction, K.R.M’s Principal, Mrs. Jyoti Gupta was invited by the Australian High Commission to visit Australia in the month of June. Christian Brother’s college hosted her during her Australian sojourn. The visit familiarized her with the education system followed in Australia- especially execution of numeracy and literacy tests. Being a part of the school’s finance meetings, board meetings, day-to-day activities and attending workshops and seminars was an extremely enlightening and engrossing experience for the principal.
Ties with Australia were further cemented when a batch of four K.R. Mangalam students visited Woodleigh School in Australia in June. The students were escorted by K.R.M’s Head Mistress, Mrs. Suhani Daur. Besides providing them a first hand experience of the Australian education system, the visit also provided them with a window to Australian culture and customs. The four students on the tour, namely Varun Kapur, Suchi Khanna, Angad Chachra and Tarini Mahajan came back invigorated and imbued with the Australian way of life.
