Orientation Programme at KR Mangalam introduces CCE to Parents
K.R.Mangalam World School,GK-II organized an Orientation Programme for classes IX and X on 21 April. The Programme commenced with a welcome song followed by a dance by students of classes 9 and 10. The Orientation was basically to inform parents about the newly introduced Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation(CCE) wherein they were informed about the two fold objective of CCE, which are :
• Continuity in evaluation and assessment of broad based learning.
• Behavioral Outcome.
The Principal, Mrs Renu Jain, in her address emphasized the need to inculcate attitudes and values to bring about holistic development among the students. She emphasized that the need of the hour is to spend quality time with the children which keeps them intellectually satiated rather than give in to their demands of latest mobiles and gadgets.
The Class Representative ,Mrs. Ruchika Gupta, along with Ms Shuchi Gupta, who conducted the programme-explained the terms-Scholastic and Co-Scholastic to the anxious parents. They were also informed about the different activities students learn under S.U.P.W and the Co-Scholastic domain. The parents were happy to be told about the efforts taken by the school to help their wards become global students.
Towards the end, the Principal Mrs Renu Jain, had an interactive session which helped the parents resolve their concerns about the grading system. They were also made aware of the CGPA the child must get to opt for the desired stream. She then thanked the parents for their unsolicited support towards making the revolutionary change CCE- a success.
