CLASS ACTIVITIES 2009- 10

“Education is any experience that has a formative effect on the mind, character of an individual.” In order to promote learning by seeing, doing and thinking, various activities are conducted in the classes. Such activities not only help the students to be fully involved but also builds their confidence and reinforces the learning process.

1. NURSERY:

(A). Kids in the kitchen: This fun filled activity helps the students to learn about healthy food, develops good tastes and eating habits and enhances their observational skills. The little chefs enjoy making new mouth-watering salads, ladoos and yummy shakes.

2. PRE-PRIMARY:

(A). Show and Tell: This activity is conducted when a new letter or akshar is introduced in Hindi as well as in English. Students speak a few lines on the object they have brought. This enhances their speaking skills and also helps them to relate the object with the letter.

(B). Restaurant Day: This was a fun-filled activity which the students thoroughly enjoyed. It helped them to learn table manners and etiquettes.

   

3. Intra-Class activity in october - PRE-PRIMARY:

(A). DIWALI CELEBRATIONS FROM OCTOBER 12 TO OCTOBER 15,2009
The children of Pre-Primary had celebrated Diwali week by preparing items required for decorating their respective houses.
The teachers had called for a steel plate which was decorated by them. They were all given one diya each which was painted by them and then decorated with glitters. Lanterns were made by them to be put at their main doors at home. One katori uncooked rice was asked for from every child. This rice was coloured with different colours. A rangoli was prepared with the coloured rice. Finally, THE KIDS IN THE KITCHEN made LADDOOS

Raw veggies are important for a nutritional diet. Kids of pre-school made vegetable salad on 11th November'09, which included baby corns, cucumber, corns, tomato, broccolis and carrots. They enjoyed it with pinch of chat masala and lemon juice. It was not only a fun-filled activity but also a learning one

Children’s Day i.e. 14th November is a red letter day for any child. On 13th November'09, the cute little buds from the bouquet of pre-school made hand made roses and Nehru caps with full zest and zeal. They also enjoyed chocolates to celebrate their special day.

The children of Pre-School brought objects for letter K k on 23rd Nov. ’09 as they do every week for introduction of every new letter. They performed the Show n tell activity very smartly. They got keys, kettle, kitten etc. The activity  helped in boosting their confidence and vocabulary.

   
Intra class Dance Competition
It was held on October 30, 2009 in which the students of pre-primary had to dance on a non filmy number. There was 100% participation in most of the sections. Children  brought their own Cds, dressed in their costume and jubilantly participated in the event. The event allowed gross motor skill, alertness, sense of rhythm, to develop in the child.

“Healthy diet leads to healthy mind.”
The children of Pre School made Fruit Cream in kids in the kitchen activity on 4th December, 2009. The main objective was to make them know the benefits of eating fruits and acquaint them with rewards of healthy diet. The children relished mixing diced fruits with cream and sugar and even more in cheering their taste buds.  

 
 

Show & Tell Activity

Role play of helpers

Children of preschool were dressed up as ‘Helpers’ on Thursday 17, dec.’09. The main objective was to acquaint them with the importance of ‘Helpers’ & their role in the present society. They carried related props and spoke their  lines confidently and were appreciated for their talent.

It was another day of fun filled activity as the children of preschool made Burger cocktail on 18 Dec., 09’. They thoroughly enjoyed making burger cocktails. The main objective was to hone their self help skills. They all put smiley, cheese and tomato ketchup inside the bun and gratified their taste buds.

EVS- Traffic
The students of Pre-Primary were taught about ‘Traffic’ in an interesting manner. Demonstration method was used to explain about  zebra crossing, basic traffic signs and lights and traffic rules. This made the comprehension process easy and the children thoroughly enjoyed the lesson.

(Intra Class Activity(February)
The students of Class-Pre-Primary had ‘kids in the kitchen’ activity in the month of February. They made the, all time favourite-‘Bhelpuri’. Under the supervision of their teachers, the young chefs mixed all the ingredients carefully and within minutes mouth-watering and yummy bhel was ready. The activity was not only great fun but also enhanced team work
